Jensen Interceptor

About 8 years ago my friend Ade bought this beautiful 44 year old Jenson and when we meet up for a drink we would say we must do a photo shoot, one of the main reasons for taking so long to organise the event was not being able to think of a suitable location. We eventually sourced the Herons Nest (formerly the Kings Head) pub at Knowle because the rear car park leads to an open field, ideal. And so one beautiful summers evening we took a trip and turned a few heads.
This car has so many distinctive features, you sink into the leather seats and you have to fasten your seat belt before you close the door (cant get at it between the seat and door), when you switch the ignition on you must wait for the dial to indicate that the oil pressure has built up to the required level before China China Turning the engine on. The leather interior, dials and dashboard are based on an airplane layout. The Air Conditioning can no longer be used as the refill gas bottle can no longer be purchased because the gas used (think its mustard gas) is a banned produce. The previous owner wanted to keep the original 8 Track tape machine but that’s ok because when your travelling you want to hear the engine and sound of the vehicle, and when you park up in the garage the engine and water pipes gurgle away for about an hour afterwards while it cools down
When the car was originally hand built at the West Bromwich factory it was the height of luxury but at a price because the engine does 12 miles per gallon. The parts are very cheap and there are many suppliers, and because of its age and classification it no longer requires a MOT or road tax.
