The 1st pcb i created and contribuited to the develop of – hand soldered vias! This was produced on a CNC milling machine rather than being acid etched as JCU does not have the facilities. It worked with some minor modifications (a track cut and a capacitor soldered directly to the cut track). The green LED shown was attached to a programmable output of the micro, which is why its not on in this photo. Hooked into a board (which i dont have a photo of) which had two pots, one of which was controlled by a motor – the aim being to handle the motor to match the pots to any turned worth.

Take my Lightning but Do not Steal my Thunder – Covent Garden

This surreal stunt is the operate of 30-year-old artist Alex Chinneck, master of architectural illusion, who has previously turned buildings upside down, pulled off their facades, and let them slither down in a heap on the pavement. A Uri Geller of bricks and mortar, this is 1 of his most ambitious works but, fabricating an imaginary eastern entrance to the industry hall that he’s then torn in half and jacked aloft, its Portland stone columns and granite walls left brutally severed.

“I wanted to play on the theatricality of this location, and make anything physically extraordinary,” he says. In location for the subsequent 3 weeks, it is already attracting crowds of gawping passers-by, as a visually arresting a single-liner, seemingly produced for the Instagram era.

The illusion of weightlessness is created achievable by a lot of polystyrene and 16 tonnes of steel. A 12-metre armature hidden inside the structure is connected to the ground by way of an innocuous market cart, in which a six-tonne counterweight stops it all from toppling more than. The effect of weathered stonework has been immaculately recreated by Richard Nutbourne and his group of scenic artists – who usually function on stage sets for the opera and ballet subsequent door. Covering the CNC-milled polystyrene blocks with plaster and granite sand, they have mimicked the neighbouring gnarled stone even down to the detail of moss, electrostatically flocked onto the surface.

“My perform is generally quite easy in its idea,” says Chinneck, “but it is a nightmare in execution.” Eight months in the producing, the Covent Garden installation is the product of a 100-strong team of architects and engineers, carpenters and set-builders, and much more than 500 hours of digital carving. It follows preceding commissions in the piazza from Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst, Banksy and Sam Taylor-Johnson.

This document appears to indicate environmental regeneration of the worked out peat beds with transport of peat overlay. This would imply that the railway and energy station are no longer operational as &quotmilled peat production&quot ceased in october 2003. This area of Mayo contained two centres of peat,Oweninny and Bangor Erris, supplying one out of two planned energy stations at Bellacorrick and Bangor Erris. The latter was not constructed. Production commenced in the late 1950s. See para four.7.1

***NO MULTI-GROUP OR STRING INVITATIONS, PLEASE!! ONLY A single INVITATION AT A TIME!***

I took a likelihood on this shot of the mill gears turning at the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton, New Jersey. Taken with my trusty Canon A580 P&ampS on complete auto. I thought the sense of movement came via quite nicely, but could use some ideas for the future. Hope you like it! And my apologies to The Byrds and The Lord for the tweaking of song lyrics and Scripture!!

The Red Mill began its life processing wool in 1810, but later ground feed, flour, stone, graphite and talc. Nowadays its exhibits trace this fascinating 200 year history in a beautiful setting. You can go to this great historic treasure, one of the most photographed locations in New Jersey, at www.theredmill.org.

Vintage Grist Mill

The Glade Creek Grist Mill was restored in 1976 at Babcock. Totally operable, this mill was built as a re-creation of a single which when ground grain on Glade Creek lengthy prior to Babcock became a state park. Identified as Cooper’s Mill, it stood on the present place of the park’s administration constructing parking lot.

Of specific interest, the mill was developed by combining components and pieces from 3 mills which after dotted the state. The standard structure of the mill came from the Stoney Creek Grist Mill which dates back to 1890. It was dismantled and moved piece by piece to Babcock from a spot close to Campbelltown in Pocahontas County. Soon after an accidental fire destroyed the Spring Run Grist Mill close to Petersburg, Grant County, only the overshot water wheel could be salvaged. Other components for the mill came from the Onego Grist Mill close to Seneca Rocks in Pendleton County.

A living monument to the over 500 mills which thrived in West Virginia at the turn of the century, the Glade Creek Grist Mill supplies freshly ground cornmeal and buckwheat flour which park guests may possibly obtain. Guests to the mill might journey back to the time when grinding grain by a rushing stream was a way of life, and the groaning mill wheel was music to the miller’s ear.

Mill @ Berry College

Old mill at Berry College in Rome, GA.

From: www.berry.edu/vtour/html/mountain/oldmill.html

Constructed in 1930, the Old Mill boasts an iron hub which had originally been of service at Hermitage, an early manufacturing neighborhood near the Shannon village between Rome and Calhoun, Georgia, and was a gift to Berry from The Republic Mining (bauxite) and Manufacturing Organization.

The wooden overshot waterwheel, regarded as a single of the biggest in the globe at 42 feet in diameter, was constructed by student workers. For many years, the mill was operated by Mr. Green Berry Goodson, a white-bearded miller who ground Berry-grown corn into meal and grits. Water is piped directly from Berry’s reservoir lake to the wheel. Once primed, the force of gravity is strong adequate to push the water up the stone column, and over the wheel, causing it to turn.
